How to choose molybdenum electrode in glass electric furnace

Molybdenum electrode is an ideal electrode material for molten glass, molybdenum has good corrosion resistance, low coefficient of thermal expansion, and high conductivity, therefore, molybdenum is widely used in the production of electric heating electrode of various glass furnace plate of glass fiber industry or strip electrode.

Molybdenum electrode has good high temperature strength, long service life, based on these advantages, it is usually used in daily optical glass, thermal insulation materials, glass fiber, rare earth industry and other fields.

In the glass industry, only 7.8 grams molybdenum electrodes are lost when produced a ton of glass. In addition to be used as electrodes, molybdenum is also used as a glass melting high-temperature material, such as a guide groove, a pipe, a crucible, a nozzle and a rare earth smelting stirring rod.

In molybdenum electrode, the impurity content and the forging density of molybdenum electrode and the uniformity of density are the most important indexes of molybdenum electrode quality. In molybdenum electrode, iron, nickel, cobalt and other elements can make the glass color to affect the glass chroma and transparency, and the presence of iron and nickel impurities can also affect the life of molybdenum electrode. The forging density and density distribution of molybdenum electrode are important factors which affect the service life and lead to micro bubbles in glass.
