Small density and high strength
The density of the metal titanium is 4.51g/cm3, which is higher than that of the steel, copper and nickel, but the strength is the first in all of the metal.
The properties of corrosion resistance
Titanium is very stable in many media, such as in oxidation, neutral and weak reduction, and so on. The reason is that titanium and oxygen have great affinity, in the air or oxygen containing medium, the surface of titanium can produce dense, strong adhesion and large inert oxide film, which can protect the titanium matrix from being corroded.
Good heat resistance
A new type of titanium alloy can be used for a long time at 600℃ or higher temperature.
Good low temperature resistance
Titanium alloy TA7 (Ti-5Al-2.5Sn), TC4 (Ti-6Al-4V) and Ti-2.5Zr-1.5Mo, etc., are represented by low temperature titanium alloys, and their strength increases with the decrease of temperature. The ductility and toughness are maintained at the low temperature of -196℃to -253℃, which avoids the black shortness of metals and it is the ideal material for the cryogenic vessel and the storage tank.
Anti damping performance
After mechanical vibration and electrical vibration, compared with the steel and copper, the metal titanium is the longest of its own vibration attenuation time. Using this property of titanium, it can be used as fork, medical ultrasonic vibrating pulverizer components and high sound loudspeaker vibration film.
Non magnetic, non-toxic
Titanium is a non magnetic metal, in a large magnetic field, it will not be magnetized, it is non-toxic and has a good phase with human tissue and blood, so it is used in the medical community.
Tensile strength and yield strength
Because the ratio of the yield limit and the elastic modulus of titanium is big, so it has big rebound ability of titanium.
Good heat transferring performance
Although the coefficient of the thermal conductivity of metallic titanium is lower than that of carbon steel and copper, due to the excellent corrosion resistance of titanium, the wall thickness can be greatly reduced to make the heat transferring performance of titanium be significantly improved.
Low elastic modulus
The modulus of elasticity of titanium is 106.4GMPa at room temperature, and accounts for 57% of steel.
Inspiration performance
Titanium is a very reactive metal, which can react with many elements and compounds at high temperature. The inspiration of titanium mainly means that titanium can react with carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen and oxygen at high temperature.
