The role of pure tungsten electrode

In the pure tungsten electrode, the electrode head is spherical, and it is generally used in the welding process of traditional square wave and sine wave and argon arc welder. After the formation of a spherical, in order to know the diameter of the electrode, in general, it will be used in alternating current, and ultimately will have their own form. The diameter of the shape should not exceed 1.5 times of the diameter of the electrode (for example, the diameter of the sphere is 1/8, then the electrode diameter is 3/16), at the tip, there is a larger spherical electrode, which can reduce the arc stability or even fall off and protect the weld bead from being contaminated.

In pure tungsten, lanthanum and cerium, thorium electrode, the pointed or truncated head is used in the AC and DC welding process of inverter. In order to avoid the contamination of grinding, we should use the specially tailored grinding wheel that is made of boron nitride or diamond which can resist the hardness of tungsten. Therefore, it is suitable for pure tungsten electrode.

Pure tungsten electrode has superior performance: low resistance, low resistance, good electrical conductivity, low thermal expansion and high elastic modulus.

Pure tungsten electrode is widely used in AC welding alternating current. It is generally used for welding aluminum, magnesium alloy (AC), which is used under the alternating current in general.

Pure tungsten electrodes are also capable of cleaning, when heating, the solder ball becomes sharp. This shape provides a balanced waveform of AC, the welding arc is stable, which is particularly good.

The pure tungsten electrode also provides good sine wave with stable arc. However, they are not used for DC welding. Pure tungsten electrodes are widely used in various industries for specific welding applications.
