The role of tungsten rods

Tungsten rod is one of the rare metals, because it is also an important strategic material, it was known as "heavy stone" in ancient times. The content of tungsten is about 0.001% in the earth's crust. It has been found that there are 20 kinds of tungsten minerals. The tungsten rods after smelting are silver white luster of the metal, the melting point is very high, the hardness is very big.

Tungsten is a rare and high melting point metal. The tungsten rod is a silver white metal, which is shaped like steel. The melting point of tungsten rod is high, vapor pressure is very low, and the evaporation rate is small. The chemical properties of tungsten are relatively stable, it doesn’t have reaction with air and water at room temperature, and doesn’t dissolve in hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, nitric acid and alkali solution. At high temperature, it is combined with chlorine, bromine, iodine, carbon and nitrogen, most of tungsten is used in the production of special steel. The widely used high speed steel contains 9% - 24% of tungsten, 3.8% - 4.6% of chromium, 1% - 5% of vanadium, 4% - 7% of cobalt and 0.7% - 1.5% of carbon. The characteristics of high speed steel is that it has high drawing temperature in the air (700--800℃), and can be automatically quenched, therefore, it remains high hardness and wear resistance till 600 to 650℃.

The tungsten steel in alloy tool steel contains 0.8% - 1.2% of tungsten, chromium tungsten silicon steel contains 2% - 2.7% of tungsten, chromium tungsten steel contains 2% - 9% of tungsten, chromium tungsten manganese steel contains 0.5% - 1.6% of tungsten. The steel including tungsten is used in the manufacturing of various tools, such as drills, milling cutter, wire drawing die, die and mold, gas tools and other parts. Wolframium is a kind of permanent magnet steel, which contains 5.2% - 6.2% of tungsten, 0.68% - 0.78% of carbon and 0.3% - 0.5% of chromium. Tungsten cobalt magnet steel is a kind of hard magnetic materials, which contains 11.5% - 14.5% of tungsten, 5.5% - 6.5% of molybdenum and 11.5% - 12.5% of cobalt. They have high magnetization and coercive force.

The above is the introduction of tungsten bars. Hope that can help you.
